I'm a pretty cool dude who makes pretty cool things.

Talking to a girl in a window.

That's me having a casual conversation with a friend.

Hey, it's me—John Carlo (he/him • they/them)— an Information Graphics Designer at the Pew Research Center where I do data visualization and visual design. I graduated from the University of Maryland's Graphic Design Program and since then I have created a portfolio that includes illustration, photography, video, creative direction, web design (this portfolio included) and digital design. If you want to know more specifics, my resume has more information.

I'm passionate about human interactions and how individuals relate to each other. The tiny details of how we communicate ourselves and our identity to the outside world have always fascinated me. One way I started exploring them is through creating art installations. Check out my Instagram to see some pieces.

When I'm not working on a project, I'm probably looking for a dog to pet, throwing a dinner party, or listening to music on Spotify. If you're interested in what I'm listening to right this moment or you just want to find some cool playlists, you can check out my Spotify.

If you want to work together, learn more about me or my work, or if you're trying to reach me about my car's extended warranty, you can email me at hello@johncarlo.co.
